"There is wisdom in addiction."

These words from Charli Wall might seem surprising at first.

Charli has had first hand experience of a traumatic life and how addiction to drugs, alcohol and food became a coping mechanism for her.

A huge shift occurred for Charli when she saw that she wasn't broken and didn't need fixing. This insight was the beginning of a shift in the way she saw life and approached the world.

In our conversation Charli shares the upheaval of her teenage years.

Her brother was killed in a motorbike accident, her father was seriously injured in the same incident.

Charli became her dad's carer and , trained as a psychiatric nurse and battled her own addiction with drugs and alcohol.

Nowadays she supports people (particularly women) through her coaching and support groups. She is an incredible listener and in this interview we explore:

  • What's going on in the mind of addicts
  • How to listen to someone with an addiction
  • How urgent thoughts are not an instruction they are actually a warning of 'over-thinking'
