Dismantling Shame by Reframing Language and Intention with Hypotherapist Nicolette Eus - a podcast by Kat Lee

Those shadowy parts of us that we'd like to bury deep deep within our soul feels like Pandora's box. We stuff what we have done, how we feel, who we are into a dark corner and hope that no one will see it.

When we do this, shame festers, mutates and tells stories about how we are not good enough or too much. And we think the only way to deal with this feeling is to hide it from the world. Meanwhile, we wonder why we are the most addicted, most obese and most medicated population to date.

Bringing all our parts back together - from shattered to whole - means forgiving, celebrating, loving, admitting, accepting and loving who we are. Coming home to ourselves allows us to to feel a deep sense of belonging and understanding that we are whole exactly as we are and that we are already enough.

HERE’S A PEEK AT WHAT WE’LL CONNECT OVER IN THIS EPISODE

  • Why we have to go back to childhood to unearth our shame stories
  • How to transform shame into connection
  • When we work through shame, we no longer rely on external validation to bring our sense of being or wholeness
  • 10 minute guided visualization with Nicolette

Resources Nicolette talked about:
Shauna Shapiro's Tedtalk "The Power of Mindfulness: What you Practice Grows Stronger"
Shauna Shapiro's book "Good Morning, I Love You"

** EDIT: I reference the brain wavelengths and refer to the beta wavelength as the state we enter when we are relaxed and receptive to ideas. That is incorrect. The correct wavelengths for this state of being is the ALPHA and THETA wavelengths.**
