Elizabeth Coffman and Ted Hardin reflect Raindance’s influence on todays Media practice.

As part of the exhibition »Radical Software. The Raindance Foundation, Media Ecology and Video Art«, the ZKM hosted the »Raindance. Research and Development in Video Art and Media Ecology« Symposium on Saturday 1 July 2017. It was reunite the former members of the Raindance Foundation – video artists Frank Gillette, Beryl Korot and Ira Schneider as well as Hollywood producer Michael Shamberg – for the first time in a joint discussion group and was present lectures by renowned media theoreticians and scholars. The symposium was moderated by Davidson Gigliotti.

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung veranstaltete das ZKM am Samstag, 1. Juli 2017 das Symposium »Raindance. Research and Development in Video Art and Media Ecology«, das die ehemaligen Mitglieder der Raindance Foundation – die Videokünstler Frank Gillette, Beryl Korot und Ira Schneider sowie den Hollywoodproduzenten Michael Shamberg – erstmals wieder in einer gemeinsamen Diskussionsgruppe, moderiert von Davidson Gigliotti, vereinte und Vorträge renommierter MedientheoretikerInnen und WissenschaftlerInnen präsentierte.
