Sombrio Beach

In this vlog, Tim and I set out planning on going to Mystic Beach but changed our minds and decided to head to Sombrio Beach because we had not vlogged Sombrio beach for you before. Sombrio Beach is a little tricky to get to because the surfers like to keep it a secret and often take the signs down. Sombrio Beach is close to Sooke, China Beach, Mystic Beach and Botanical Beach. You can find it on google maps, but look it up before you go, because there is no cell service in the area. Access to Sombrio Beach has recently been improved so it is fairly easy to drive down from highway fourteen.Sombrio Beach is part of the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, if you go in the summer months you will see backpackers hiking across the beach. There are backpacking camp sites at Sombrio Beach including bear safe storage units for your food. Any other times of the year the beach is full of surfers.Tim and I had planned to eat at Stoked Wood Fired Pizza, but it was closed when we arrived. This place has amazing pizza, but we learned the lesson the hard way. Make sure you check the hours before you go.
