Detox and cleanse diets are all the rage these days, and the idea behind them can be very enticing.  Who doesn’t want to think that your insides are squeaky clean and healthy? We bathe to keep our outsides fresh, so why not “bathe” internally as well?  It was in the name of freshness and health, then, that the wacky detox diets and cleanses were born.  Oh, and in the name of the almighty dollar.  Yeah, that too.

In truth, our bodies do their own detox work, and they’re really quite good at it.  We have organs that were specifically engineered to keep everything clean and running smoothly on the inside.  Knowing this, the best thing you can do to help is to keep your organs healthy and functioning well.

In today’s episode we’ll review exactly how our organs work to keep us clean and healthy.  We’ll also discuss ways to help your body’s natural “detox” system do its work without resorting to harmful fad detox diets and cleanses.
