The Impact of Toxic Parenting - 'Therapy-ish (ft. Asia Hardin) - a podcast by Asha Creary

In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down with Asia Hardin, a student intern at Capella University, studying to obtain her master’s in mental health counseling.  This episode is all about toxic parenting! From identifying toxic behaviors parents might exhibit toward their children, to the negative and lasting effects toxic parenting can have as a child grows into adulthood- Asha and Asia discuss the many ways in which parents’ behavior can inhibit their children’s growth in therapy. Similarly, we also talk about the ways parents can play supportive, constructive roles in their child’s mental health journey.  Therapy-ish was created with the mindset of removing the stigma around mental health and to help bridge the gap from the streets to the office. Our goal is to educate listeners on new ways to go about seeking help, becoming more aware of where we are, discuss therapy in traditional and non-traditional ways with expressing new ways to move forward in the world.
