The Bits & Bytes Series - Iris Ten Teije

Hosted by David Murugasu

Today on the show, we have Iris Ten Teije, co-founder and CEO of Koia.

Koia is an alternative investments platform that allows anyone, with just 50 dollars, to invest in their favourite luxury goods and collectables, from fine wine all the way to rare Pokemon cards. 🔥This is all made possible through fractional ownership, which Iris envisions, will make future buying and selling a fraction of a Rolex as easy as buying shares of your favourite stocks. Koia closed an initial angel investment round securing investors such as Gary Clarke, ex-Head of Global Equities at Blackrock, Gary Dolman, co-founder of Monzo and André Mohamed, co-founder of FreeTrade. Prior to founding Koia, Iris has had extensive experience in growing startups, having worked in multiple early-stage companies across Hong Kong and London. Since our recording, Koia has newly announced a $1.4 million pre-seed round. Investors in the round, who will be joining the existing group of backers, include Seedcamp, RTP, and Portfolio Ventures. 💸
