A physical therapist is assisting a local school’s football team during their practice session. An athlete presents to the physical therapist with left shoulder pain after being hit hard by another player. The physical therapist performs an evaluation and finds the patient’s shoulder active and passive range of motion are within normal limits. In addition, the pain is worsened when the patient lays supine and elevates the lower extremities.
