• Authorities are warning people about groups of young men stealing rental cars from Philadelphia International Airport — as KYW Newsradio Crime and Justice reporter Kristen Johanson tells us, the offenders have been escalating their crimes.


• Two City Council members have proposed establishing a reparations task force to suggest ways to compensate Philadelphians descended from slaves. KYW Newsradio City Hall Bureau Chief Pat Loeb reports.


• A bill that would extend and expand Philadelphia’s speed camera program, which is currently in use on Roosevelt Boulevard, moved out the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee this week. KYW Newsradio Suburban Bureau Chief Jim Melwert has more.

  Lots of events are happening around the city this weekend for Juneteenth, a freedom holiday celebrated for decades by Black communities.
