- The District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday announced that former Philadelphia Police officer Patrick Heron, 53, who was already facing a slew of child sexual assault charges, had been re-arrested on 233 new counts.

- A Philadelphia City Council hearing on the escape last month of two men from Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center provided little new information about the prison break. But a disturbing picture of the city’s prison system, and the lives of corrections officers, emerged as the hearing exposed the consequences of chronic understaffing at Philly’s five prisons.
- SEPTA continues to test the next-to-arrive countdown clock at stations on the Market-Frankford Line, but the transit agency says it won't be fully rolled out anytime soon.
