We open with chatter about how roots music is a core element of our podcast and how fitting it is to be here at the WBFF (Whispering Beard Folk Festival). Jerry, Jene and Megan talk about their histories and love for this genre, including talk about their past favorite concerts or festivals, etc. This sets up the parade of artist conversations and performances Casey has arranged.

Jerry, along the way, talks about playing guitar from his college days, and where he performed in Cincinnati.

Jerry also talks about Trump and why he will not be elected President. (Ahem). Topics include immigration, border fences, and Trump's hair or toupee.

Most of the episode, and the next, will be talking with and hearing songs from Whispering Beard performers.

Performances by Tom Vandenavond are about a weary traveling musician, quitting drinking and new beginnings.

We’ll end with Irene Goodnight. (Sometimes I live in the country. Sometimes I live in town. Sometimes I take a great notion to jump in the river and drown.)
