You can still experience joy while going through a difficult time.  You can still experience joy while wanting more, while feeling like things need to change, while you're growing, shifting, expanding, and evolving.

Far too often, we get bogged down in all the things that need to change in order for us to be happier, but if this was all it took, all those things you wanted 5 years ago that have now come to fruition would be all you need.  But, I bet like me, once you achieved those things, there was more you miraculously needed in order to be happy.  Am I right?

One of the things I hear most from clients is my ability to stay positive and upbeat no matter what life has thrown at me.  Whether that's going through a difficult parenting period (HELLO TEETHING BABY), having no idea where I'm going to be living in 3 years (HELLO MILITARY LIFE), or still wanting more for myself professionally and personally (HELLO EARNING MORE TO GIVE MORE TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD), for the most part, I don't let life's stressors keep me down for long.

One of my biggest tools is mindfulness and literally taking the time to smell the roses.

When's the last time you intentionally took in all the beauty that surrounds that you?
  • How many times do you drive down the same road not noticing the trees, the buildings, the architecture, the wildlife?  
  • How many times do you go grocery shopping and not take the time to notice the gorgeous blooms in the floral section?  
  • How many times do you walk through down the same hallway in your house not appreciating your artwork or decor or that favorite picture you have framed?

Beauty is around us ALWAYS, but it's up to us to notice it.  It's up to us to remind ourselves of how rich and abundant we are.

It's this one little skill that not only makes the journey that much more enjoyable as we pursue deeper alignment for ourselves both personally and professionally, but it's also what allows us to experience contentment and awe in what is right here, right now.  It's the foundation for gratitude and raising our vibration to attract even more beauty into our world.

So today's meditation is a bit different than a traditional sitting meditation.  Today, you'll be challenged to start noticing the beauty that surrounds you.

Tune into the magic that's around you.  I promise you it's there, but it's YOU who gives meaning to it.  That's your superpower!
