Representative Aaron Kaufer rejoins the Dom Giordano Program for an update on an interview last week, when he joined the show to discuss his call for the Wolf administration to act against a boycott of Israel by Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Kaufer has called the announcement by Ben and Jerry’s parent company Unilever a “poorly hidden anti-Semitic economic attack,” and asked for the Wolf administration to enforce a state law that prohibits the state from contracting with companies that boycott Israel. In response, the Wolf administration wrote that the “DGS [the Department of General Services] has reviewed existing vendor contracts and the commonwealth does not have any vendor contracts with Ben & Jerry’s or with its parent company. Act 163 of 2016 does not apply in this case.” Kaufer explains his response and the importance of the issue, and tells what he hopes to do to prevent similar actions from happening in the future.
