Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards. This week, Dom spends time speaking with those in the know, people who have experienced much of what we're seeing first-hand before, and have fought back in their own ways.

This week, Dom speaks again with Clarice Schillinger, President of the Back to School PA PAC, for an update on the half million dollars that has been earmarked for grassroots efforts to push back against overbearing school boards. Then, Dr. Elana Fishbein of No Left Turn in Education returns to Readin’, Writin’, and Reason. Last year, Elana involved herself in the community after her child brought home a very questionable book that examined race and equity. Since then, Fishbein has worked to open chapters of No Left Turn in Education in states throughout the country, a group dedicated to bringing decision-making back to parents rather than overbearing school boards. Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Will Bunch targeted Dr. Fishbein for her involvement, and she joins the show to respond.
