Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.

First, Dom welcomes in Ryan Boyer, leader of the Laborers District Council in Philadelphia, who penned a surprising op-ed for Broad and Liberty today that clears the record, explaining that he is firmly in favor of the Pennsylvania push for Lifeline Scholarships despite prior reporting. Boyer provides an incredibly candid assessment of the situation, explaining why he, as a Philadelphian, had to teach his child to lie so he could access a good education. Boyer tells of the importance of allowing choice for parents, telling of the forced segregation that exists based on zip code when we require parents to send their child to a bad school.

Then, Dom welcomes State Representative Amen Brown back onto the podcast to discuss, as a Democrat, why Democratic lawmakers have stood firmly against an already agreed upon introduction of school choice in Philadelphia. Brown is the first Democrat to speak out in favor of school choice, coming only a day after a Philadelphia labor leader Ryan Boyer joined the show to explain why he also is in favor of Pennsylvania’s Lifeline Scholarships. Brown, in discussing the interview with Ryan Boyer reveals that one of his staffers has had to lie to send her daughter to West Chester schools, also revealing that he would never send his children to Philadelphia Public Schools in their current state.
