In a rare instance, Dom Giordano has fallen on the side of the unions in a labor dispute. For a long while now, employees for Amazon have been trying to unionize, and have faced major pushback from the giant corporation. Rick Bloomingdale, President of Pennsylvania’s AFL-CIO, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the almost Orwellian tactics that Amazon uses on its employees, such as the company's structure allowing rare face to face interaction for employees concerning Human Relations situations. Also, Bloomingdale reveals that Amazon automatically tracks its employees using a technology that tells whether or not an employee is arriving late to work. Then, Bloomingdale notes other troubling aspects of Amazon’s treatment of their employees, explaining that in a recent vote regarding unionization there’s some evidence that voters were intimidated to not vote in favor of a union.
