First, Giordano and McFarland discuss the lack of a crisis management team in dealing with the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the lack of preparation from the Biden administration during the retreat. McFarland discusses contingencies that the Trump administration had in place that would have allowed a much safer withdrawal, telling that she believes things may get even worse for the Afghani people. Then, Giordano asks McFarland whether Flynn supported Trump’s concept of ending endless wars, to which she explains that the stance was to end involvement of these wars while bringing a peaceful resolution to individual conflicts.
