George Bochetto, ace attorney in the Philadelphia region, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to announce and discuss a new lawsuit filed against Mayor Kenney and the city of Philadelphia. The suit, which has been filed in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, hones in on the discrimination against Italian-Americans perpetuated by the Kenney administration. In January of this year, Mayor Kenney, by an executive order, cancelled Columbus Day as a holiday in Philadelphia and replaced it with ‘Indigenous Peoples Day.’ In the suit, Bochetto notes that no notice was given to the other branches of the Philadelphia Government which had the right to designate holidays, nor did they receive any input from the public. Also, along with the Columbus Day issue, Bochetto notes in the lawsuit that Kenney usually uses slurs targeting Italians. Bochetto previews a press conference coming later today, in which this topic will be discussed, and tells listeners his plan of action. (Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for MoveOn)
