It is currently the most talked about case in Nollywood (the third largest movie industry in the world). The case is Raconteur Productions v. Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions & Film One Limited. The claim by the Plaintiff is that Omoni Oboli and the rest of the defendants infringed on the copyrights of Jude Idada, a Canada-based writer of Nigerian heritage, who allegedly wrote the script for Oboli’s movie ‘Okafor’s Law.’ On the 93rd episode of The Africa Music Law show, Ms. Uduak, host of the show, takes a look at the allegations and shares the 4 mistakes Oboli made that got Oboli in copyright infringement trouble.
