Winning RSSS Most Graceful Girl is one of the most prestigious wins you can ever have in your calisthenics career. And since 2016 the competition has expanded to include a Calisthenics Solo as well. Today we are talking to the one and only Julia Doig from Ceres Calisthenics Club in Melbourne. Julia received a double win at the RSSS Competition winning both her Solo and Graceful routines which is the first time the same person has won both in the same year. Julia has been in calisthenics for 22 years and needless to say, her resume is more than impressive.

Other achievements of Julia include receiving her Gold Medal with Honours in 2017, winning both the  Cali and Graceful solos in Senior Open at the CVI State Titles in 2014, of course, the double win at RSS in 2017 and being awarded National Champion of Senior Graceful in 2018 in Canberra! Her Ceres team also went on to win CV State Titles and RSS Senior Championship in 2013 and 2014.

Julia now continues to perform but also coaches and is training to become an examiner. She has participated in the Victorian State Team as a performer for five years and as a coach for 2, claiming the National title on all seven occasions.

Julia just loves calisthenics and claims it has made her the confident person she is today and brought so much joy to her life.

If you have a young aspiring calisthenics girl whether she is doing solos or not, this is a podcast I would highly recommend they listen to. Julia’s work ethic, dedication to her sport is remarkable and is evident by her success. She also has some absolute gems which I am sure you will take from this interview. So sit back and enjoy this wonderful opportunity to listen to one of the calisthenic legends of this time.
