Spirit, soul and ego are three main areas of personal development. Spiritual growth calls us into communion with the Universal Life Force, the God of our own understanding (or misunderstanding.) Soul work is about finding and fulfilling our individual purpose in this lifetime, bringing the gifts we were born to manifest into the larger system. Ego or personality self is the vehicle which moves us through ordinary reality of being human; work, relationships, family, society and how we organize within our small "s" self. 
Spirit, soul and ego interact and inform each other in complex ways. At any given time we may be more focused on one area than the others as we grow and evolve throughout our lifetime.
