If you're like most people, you may be eager to jump back into your workouts and make up for lost time. But before you do, it's important to consider the concept of load management.




Taking a break from your training can cause a loss of conditioning, but it's common to want to play catch up and make up for any weight gained over the break. However, trying to pick up where you left off can actually increase the risk of injury.




To avoid this and achieve your fitness goals, it's important to ease back into your training and gradually build up your strength and conditioning. This is especially true if you've had more than a week off or if you've been inconsistent with your workouts. In these cases, it's best to regress your training and avoid advanced overload methods.




So remember, when returning to your workouts post holidays, pay attention to load management to avoid injury and achieve your goals.
