"Tell me what you value and I might believe you, but show me your calendar and your bank statement, and I’ll show you what you really value" -Peter Drucker
Non-negotiable time is the time you allocate in your week, day to invest in yourself to do the things that are important but not urgent. You know, that laundry list of things that you wanted to do like read that book, take that course, research that potential future of yours, reconnect with that former colleague, etc.
The challenge is that the days/months/years pass by and you don't actually get to it.Also, keep in mind what non-negotiable time IS NOT. It is not time that you use to catch up on items that will be due soon. It is not time that you use to vegetate and recharge (although you could put some self-care exercises if that is a challenge for you).
If you invested an hour a day for a year, you'd have the equivalent of more than 2 extra work-months of your year. Imagine how much more you'd grow if you had worked 2 extra months a year on your personal development?Special thanks to https://www.instagram.com/lincolnalexanderthe2nd/ for the theme music
