Wade Gravy is a big Aussie guy based in Barcelona. The former editor of Australia’s Surfing Life and life-long part of Stoke Travel knows Spain’s weirdest and wildest fiestas. Having been to more than 50 festivals in Spain, he knows how to have a good time.

Food for thought:

  • Almost every single village in Spain has a fiesta where they party for days, a tradition that dates back hundreds of years
  • Whether people are covered in oil and paint at Cascamorras, wine at the Haro wine fight, tomatoes at La Tomatina, turnips at Jarramplas, flour at Els Enfarinats or whatever it may be, the locals in the village board up their windows because they simply love the festivals.
  • Spanish people have a greater sense of fraternity

Enjoy and get rad!

Check out La Tomatina, the La Rioja wine festival in Haro and Cascamorras near Granada.
