Growing Up Gay - a podcast by Antonio Liranzo

On todays episode of "Nana Tingz", I (@AntonioILiranzo) wanted to dive into the conversation of growing up gay. I read Alan Down's book "The Velvet Rage" (Available Here), were his discusses the 3 stages of shedding our shame of being gay. I wanted to create a safe space for us to talk about our shared trauma. Alans book brought up so many important topics such as addiction, failed relationships, being afraid of being alone and sexual experiences. Growing up in an era were idols and media showed mainly heterosexual couples, it is hard to understand our sexuality, especially when bullies know before we do and they are using the term "gay" and other words to torment us, we dont even know we are gay ourselves. The discovery of our sexuality can be weird and overwhelming, but we all share this gay trauma. Dm me if you would like to talk about this experience.
