Paul Refsdal: It's important to see our enemies for what they are - a podcast by LSM

At the opening of the Baltic Sea Documentaries festival on Wednesday, the K. Suns movie gallery screened Dugma: The Button (2016) directed by Norwegian journalist Paul Refsdal, who flew in for the screening of the film amounting to an intimate portrait of would-be Al-Qaeda suicide bombers.

Refsdal, an Islam convert who in 2009 negotiated for his life after being captured by Taliban, says it's important for us to see our enemy for what they are.

His interview with Latvian Radio's Māra Rozenberga covers things like being asked for a CV by Al-Qaeda; the different motivations of aspiring suicide bombers; and maintaining objectivity whilst living side by side with the characters of his film.
