At this hour: Heat wave on the waterfront!
The fountains at Domino Park are an instant antidote to it. The just-opened recreation area has rows of inviting water jets for kids to run through when temps soar.
The park opened this past June. It is part of the Walentas family company's Domino Sugar Refinery mega-development.
Where is it? In Brooklyn of course.
Also at this hour: Brooklyn, one of New York City’s 5 boroughs, sits on the western end of Long Island. The iconic Brooklyn Bridge, built in 1883, connects it to Manhattan. Neighborhoods range from high-end DUMBO to Williamsburg, a hotbed of indie music, art and nightlife; to beachfront Coney Island and its amusement parks. Leafy, row house–filled districts include Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope. Today we are all about Brooklyn.
