"to contradict" means to say or do the opposite, so if someone contradicts themselves (do or say something, and then later do or say the opposite), it can be quite embarrassing! If someone always says the opposite to what most people say, they are called a "contrarian". Here are some vocab and expressions that come up in today's episode:
Ease the pain - make something bad easier or more comfortable
Stand up for (someone) - to defend
I can take it - I don't mind hearing harsh criticism
to play (the) devil’s advocate - to say an opposite opinion in order to discuss a topic
an echo chamber - a group of people that always agree (often on social media)
…to the contrary of - something is wrong / the opposite (of a previously stated
supply is dwindling - supply is almost gone
