The world of supply-chain is filled with challenges whether due to fraud of spare parts, expensive shipping delays, maintaining over-size inventories, wrong administration of vaccines, fake medicine, and the list goes on. The mother of all challenges would the blame game across different parties.   

Businesses struggle to maintain a consistent cordial relationship with their customers, suppliers, and other parties across an industry value-chain or sometimes referred to as the supply chain. This is due to a lack of trust, a common system as well as access to real-time data to drive decisions.   

In the past, businesses would largely depend on exchanging information on paper or select batches of digital data, and keep track of records that they felt were authentic.   

These would lead to reconciliation challenges, audit trails, managing outliers, and unfortunately, a lot of finger-pointing and blame games.  

Fortunately, with the advances in technology and availability of new digital applications like Blockchain, Internet-of-Things, Machine-Human interface, Big Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence, it is now possible to create a single system across multiple parties, exchanging information in real-time and accelerated decision making.  

This is leading to huge cost savings for businesses as well as building trust between parties that is creating new ways of conducting business.
