Triggering People Is What You’re Meant To Do as a Coach - a podcast by Amanda King

“So many new coaches come to the online space and they are full-on terrified of triggering people. They will say things like, ‘But what if someone gets upset? Like, what if I trigger someone? What if someone gets angry at something I post?’ GIRL! Your whole motherf*cking job is to trigger.”
This week on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, we’re talking all about the difference between good and bad triggers. Plus, why triggering will grow your reach and audience.
There will be people out there who cannot stand you. There will be people out there who will unfollow you and block you. There will be people out there who talk sh*t about you. There will always be people out there saying something. There is no way around it, even if you get into the online space and you try to please everybody. It's f*cking exhausting because no matter how hard you try, someone's going to get triggered.
And that's OK.
It is completely OK to trigger people. It is literally why you're here. There is good triggering and there is bad triggering.
Triggering is the most powerful tool that you have as a coach because if you're not triggering, you're not doing anything. You're just floating by. No one just wants to float, right? If you are not saying something that triggers one person to block you, what are you saying? What you're saying is shallow.
What I’ve realized is that triggering helps others discover something about themselves and eventually realize it had nothing to do with you. Remember, it’s never about you when people get triggered. But triggering WILL grow your impact and business.
