"I think that a lot of people dwell in so much lack out there, so much of that scarcity mindset. Really, there is a lot of abundance in this market if you just shift a little, try something new and are not afraid to put yourself out there."

Today on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, I am sharing another interview from the Connection Thru Chaos Series, this time with Kayla Ybanez. Kayla is an Instagram and business strategist for network marketers and online coaches who want to create a sustainable and scalable personal brand online.

Primarily, what Kayla does is teach network marketers how to convert curious followers into loyal, lifetime customers without cold messaging. She started her business from a hospital room where her daughter was fighting for her life. Her family basically lived in the hospital for 436 days straight until her daughter underwent a lifesaving bone marrow transplant in January of 2019.

Kayla was traveling a lot for different events in January and February when the pandemic hit and started to worsen. In February, she attended a retreat and toward the end of the month, her daughter’s Make-a-Wish trip to Disney World and Universal Studios took place. March was a challenging month both personally and in Kayla’s business, and it ended up being a big learning experience.

Kayla considers being stuck at home her biggest trigger since the pandemic started. Because Kayla’s daughter is immunosuppressed, the family doesn’t really go many places that often anyway. However, trying to work with clients while not having answers to many of the pressing questions people are asking has been tricky.

Despite the difficulties, Kayla still manages to be there for her clients who are feeling nervous about selling and launching in the midst of uncertainty. More importantly, she chose to pivot her business rather than give in to the scarcity mindset.

Part of Kayla’s strategy that we can all apply to our own lives and businesses right now is to just f*cking wing it. After all, there is no guidebook on how to run your online business during a pandemic, so instead of feeling paralyzed by that lack of guidance, embrace it!

Allow the current situation to be a time where you can get creative and scrappy with your business. Throw something out there and just see what sticks.

"I believe if you can throw something out there in this market right now, in the middle of a pandemic and it does fairly well, that means it's gonna f*cking crush it in any other market when you launch it again. So, this is almost like a beautiful testing ground."
