Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection thru Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from no other than THE Jen Casey.

Jen is a Brain-Based Business Coach, and she works with other online coaches who want to build, sell, and effectively run high-level coaching programs. She also does a whole lot of fun stuff within the field of NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnosis and sprinkles all of that expertise into the way in which she approaches building a business.

In today’s episode, though, Jen and I talk about what it's like living - and moving homes! - in New York City during this pandemic.

Jen was actually hosting a mastermind class when the crisis unfolded and her life has felt pretty nonstop ever since. Jen’s biggest concern going into the event was about the emotional and mental state of everyone who was going to attend, but she hoped to create a safe space where everybody could really do the work that needed to be done and go home feeling recharged. Thankfully, that’s exactly how the event went down.

For Jen, this trying time is actually what she’s been training and preparing for, as a leader and a coach. She’s always wanted to have plenty of tools in her metaphorical toolbox to work with, to be able to respond to each situation accordingly and make the necessary shifts and pivots based on what was going on.

Ultimately, Jen has a few takeaways from this pandemic so far. First, we can all take this time to learn how to deepen our trust in one another and come together against a common enemy.

Secondly, we’re at a point where companies need to innovate in their messaging, businesses, and even their personal relationships while trying to work from home with kids. But needing to innovate in every area of our lives can be extremely mentally taxing. So it’s perfectly alright to give yourself permission to rest so that you can continue to evolve and do what you need to do.

Rest is just as important as work, that’s what we all tend to forget.
