When you live in the Midwest and seasons changes, clothing changes. For me, there is something about that first time I put on shorts, I have so many feelings connected with it and usually not too excited.  My kids will tell me, “Gosh, Mom your legs are really white.” 


I will be honest, for me in the past, my legs have always been my trouble area, I have always kid them, tried to cover them up and just not feeling great about my body in the summer.


I remember in my early 20's I would wear jeans in extreme heat and that is just the way it was, no thoughts about wearing shorts or wearing a swimsuit in the summer.


And now, hitting the 40 mark, I realize who cares. I am going to buy comfy shorts that make me feel good inside and out.


As I am learning and teaching more about intuitive eating, mindful practices for the body and embracing body acceptance, there is so much more about yourself than how you look.
