I really open up in this one about my own struggle with overeating.  What I learned about what is REALLY happening, and how I've finally taken control of my food.

And when you are struggling with this, it feels big and hard like you will never be able to end the struggle.  But, I promise that the path IS available to you, and it's not as confusing as you may think!

So, even if you don't want to give up sugar 100% or be "perfect" by never eating something "bad."  You can still find the control that you are looking for.

I mention This Naked Mind, by Annie Grace.  Her approach to controlling alcohol has been such an inspiration to me and my food journey.

A few clarifications for this episode:
I recorded this a few months ago before our Coronavirus quarantine, so I mention going to work the next day, but obviously I'm not doing that right now.

I also mention an experiment from her book where she faces her demon head on.  Just a word of caution:  If you have a lot of body shame going on right now, it might be better to hold off on doing this experiment.  It may do more harm than good if you aren't in the right space to receive it.

And lastly, I mentioned Dopamine as a pleasure hormone, but it actually isn't the chemical that releases the pleasure, it's what tells the brain to keep coming back for more...a little nuance there.
