we back in studio for the podcast!

one of the big lessons i’ve learned and share in this show is the power of being broke. because it forces you to get crafty, and in doing so you learn how to do a lot of shit yourself.

i harp on that point a lot, and i truly believe in it. but another aspect of it i touch on is how much DIY projects also feed you some humble pie. because when you’re doing shit yourself it will probably lack more quality than if a paid professional did it.

but that’s also part of the process. learning what you can live with and can’t live without. it helps you break down your art/content and focus on which parts you have to have. it’s taught me a lot about how little i need perfection these days. and at the same time how much i appreciate people’s work that does deliver high quality.

most of our resistance to creating content consistently i believe is fear that it’s “not good enough”. but who is that for? not good enough for you? or are you afraid of people’s judgement?

take the time to understand what your boundaries are with your work and what you can live with. chances are you’re your own worst critic. you’re stressing out over something that probably doesn’t matter anyway, so put it out into the world and see what happens. what do you have to lose?
