President Russell M. Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and their wives, Wendy Watson Nelson and Patricia Holland will embark on a trip on April 10th, that will literally take them around the world.  They'll travel to London, Israel, Africa, Thailand and China as part of the 13-day trip. 

 

It isn't the first time a church President has traveled like this, but it's been more than a decade. 

 

For President Nelson, travel has become a way of life since he was called to the Quorum of the 12 Apostles in April of 1984. From that time, a man who was a world-renown surgeon was given a different tasks, to open hearts and nations to the church. 

 

KSL Newsradio's Marc Giauque sat down with Elder Spencer J. Condie, author of the book,"Russell M. Nelson, Father, Surgeon, Apostle"  and Justin Bray from the Department of Church History to talk about his past trips, and President Nelson's decades of outreach around the world.
