Easter Island holds numerous parallels with our time. We can learn many lessons from the short history of Easter Island, lessons that we may ignore at our own peril.
They say that history repeats itself, and there is a lot of evidence to support that claim, but it does not have to be that way; surely if we did truly learn some of the many lessons from the mistakes of history, and become more aware of some of our all too predictable human short-comings, then we would be in a much better place to create a more sustainable and prosperous future for all of mankind.
