The book, "What does it mean to be a Liberal in India" edited by Ronald Meinardus, was launched in Bangalore by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and The Takshashila Institution. In this special four part series, Pavan Srinath discusses liberalism with Ronald Meinardus and three of the authors featured in the books: Karthik Shankar, Harshita Lall and Jash Dholani. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom is the foundation for liberal politics in the Federal Republic of Germany. FNF works on some of the most important issues related to liberalism such as the opening of the Indian economy, working with the police to transform into a democratically accountable service, making cities more liberal for their citizens and so on. The Takshashila Institution is an independent, non-partisan think tank on India’s strategic affairs and public policy, registered in Chennai and with offices in Bangalore. It has pioneered modern public policy education in India through its graduate programme targeted at working professionals in the media, politics, NGOs and the corporate sector. External Links: 1.
