“Prepare thoroughly. But, in class, teach the learners, not the plan.” - Jim Scrivener

I know, I know I sound like a broken record. You need a PLAN. I am sitting here thinking of a plan for my students next week. I have a general overview of what I am going to teach, but it is time that I get it on paper and gather the materials that I will need. I am also mentally preparing myself for the possibility that my plan may not go as expected. What will I do? I plan on adapting to my learner needs. Let’s dive into why you need a plan everyday for your ELLs.

  1. Plans provide you with a clear roadmap of where you are going.
  2. You began to build confidence in your lessons
  3. Trust is established with plans
